About the event

This Month’s Program on Jan. 12th will feature our long-time member and former museum curator, Ken Murdock, presenting “Amtrak’s Early Years – The Rainbow Era to the P40’s.” Ken will start in 1971, when most all the major railroads sold off their passenger cars and locomotives to Amtrak, causing a rainbow of cars on every line until Amtrak could obtain its own cars. He will cover about 20 years until Amtrak began introducing their new F40s, designed specifically for passenger train use. Come join us and share your stories about Amtrak’s early years.

A short business meeting of the Society precedes the program. Guests can enter through the side door of the museum, located on the freight dock along the gravel parking area along Tremaine Street.
