About the event

Michael Broggie weas first transported by Disney magic on “Uncle Walt’s” backyard miniature Carolwood Pacific Railroad as an eight-year-old.  He test-drove Disneyland’s Autopia prototype cars at the Disney Studios as a 12-year-old in 1955, and joined the cast at Disneyland in 1960 working on the Autopia, Rainbow Caverns Mine Train and many other attractions during summers while attending college.  After graduating, he became a publicity writer in the marketing department at Walt Disney Productions.  Throughout his career he held management positions in leisure, communications, and marketing.

The Broggie connection to Disney is a solid one, initially forged by Michael’s father, Roger E. Broggie, a precision machinist who became the first Imagineer and a Disney Legend, and carried on my Michael, a nationally recognized authority on the career and personal history of Walt Disney.  Eight members of the family have served in the Disney organization.  In 1993, Michael and his wife Sharon co-founded the Carolwood Society, which has members in multiple countries around the world.  They also founded the Carolwood Foundation, operator of Walt Disney’s Barn Museum in Los Angeles on behalf of the Disney family.
